1st
Day (Friday) - Travel, Arrival &
Introduction
- approx. 6:00 p.m.: arrival in Berlin east station
(Ostbahnhof), greeting by your TREFF PUNKT
teacher in Berlin
- walk along the famous East-Side Gallery - which
is the last part of the Wall between East and West
Berlin
- dinner in a Berlin restaurant and introduction to
Berlin
- trip to a cool bar
2nd Day (Saturday) - City
Tour and experience Berlin
- 10:00 a.m.: we meet at the Potsdamer Platz: a walk
through the government district and Brandenburger
Tor, followed by a visit to the "Deutscher
Bundestag" (German Parliament), where you
will listen to parts of a speech and enjoy the fabulous
view from the glass cupola of the German Reichstagsgebäude
(about 4 hours)
- lunch
- late afternoon you are free to explore Berlin on
your own. We recommend a walk through Friedrichstrasse
(the new commerce and fashion centre in Berlin. At
the end of that street you will find the "House
at Checkpoint Charlie".)
alternative 1: "City-Circle-Tour"
or tour with the normal bus line 101 (€ 20): you
will see the most important sights in Berlin
alternative 2: visit of Charlottenburg
castle
- 07:00 p.m.: we will meet for a typical Saturday evening
event like Varité at "Friedrichstadtpalast".
Afterwards "Berlin at night " at the "Kalkscheune" (for
example)
3rd Day (Sunday) - History
and Cultural of Berlin - departure in the evening
- 10:00 a.m.: you meet at the "Gedächtniskirche" on
the Kudamm and walk to the the exhibition "The
Story of Berlin", where among other things
you will see an original nuclear blast-proof bunker
(approx. 2 hours)
alternative: tour of the exhibition in the museum "House
at Checkpoint Charlie"- formerly the most
famous crossing point between East and West Berlin
- guides tour through the "Hackeschen Höfen" with
your TREFF PUNKT-teacher)
- approx. 04:00 p.m. - 05:30 p.m.: we meet at the Café
im Literaturhaus to round up our visit in Berlin.
At about 05:30 p.m. we walk to the the train station "Zoologischer
Garten"
.
- for those taking the train back to Bamberg: departure
will be at Berlin Main Station about 6 p.m. in
an ICE train that travels directly to Bamberg (arrival
at about 11 p.m.) [ download

- Two nights in Youth
hostel International in a 3-5 bed room (breakfast
included) or in the "Hotel 26"
- 2-day tickets for the public transport system
in Berlin
- Visit to the Deutscher Bundestag to hear a speech
- Admission to the museum "Story of Berlin" or "House
at Checkpoint Charlie"
- You book the trip along with your language course
in Bamberg
- Minimum 6 persons, maximum 15. Therefore: Please
book as soon as possible!
- The fee for the trip must be paid at least 14 days
in advance*
- If space is available, friends and relatives of a
TREFF PUNKT student can
also come along on the trip
- Transportation to and from Berlin is NOT* included
in the prices quoted above; information about the least
expensive ways to get from Bamberg to Berlin will be
provided at the school after your arrival in Bamberg
* Please note that late
bookings (after 14 days before travel date) will not
include the guided visit of the German parliament,
due to security and booking restrictions of the German
government. So you will visit the parliament by chance
like ordinary visitors without a official guide. |
