Courses differ from each other with regard to...

1. Number of lessons and intensity:
   From 20 to 28 lessons per week in a group
   or from 2 to 52 lessons per week one-to-one training
   or a combination of both
   
2. Teaching contents:
   Even distribution of grammar, speaking, listening, reading comprehension and writing skills in the levels A1 to B2. However, stronger focus on vocabulary extension and conversation with less grammar from level C1 onwards.
3. The more lessons you book, the more homework you will have. So when choosing a course, please consider the amount of lessons and note that you will have to spend about 2 to 3 hours on homework on average every day. Please also read our general course information.

   At level A1 textbooks: Delfin A1 by Hueber and Aussichten A1.1 und A1.2 by Klett  supplemented by our own material.
   At level A2 textbooks A1: Delfin A2 by Hueber and Aussichten A2.1 and A2.2 by Klett  supplemented by our own material.
   At level B1 textbooks: Delfin B1 by Hueber and Aussichten B1.1 and B1.2 by Klett  supplemented by our own material.
   At level B2 textbook  Mittelpunkt B2 by Klett, supplemented by our own material.
   At level C1 textbooks em Abschlusskurs by Hueber and Mittelpunkt C1 by Klett  and our own material.
   At level C2 we use very advanced grammar exercises, our own material and newspapers.
   From level A2 to B2 we include texts / article  from the magazine Deutsch Perfekt.
   
   
3. Teaching contents:
   In all one-to-one lessons and during the afternoon lessons for the super Intensive course time can be allocated to subject related topics, e.g. office German, business German, engineering vocabulary, literature, art, politics, geography and medical German. Exercises to improve phonetics, write essays, give presentations and other individual objectives are also possible.

Intensive course

• 20 group lessons per week
• Description of course:
  Opt for this course if you would like a balance between intensive instruction in the morning and free time in the afternoon. This course will allow you enough time to participate in all our afternoon and evening activities. Allow 2 hours selfstudy for course preparation and homework.
  The following are skill focus areas of the course which may vary according to course level:
  • training and development of communicative abilities
  • development of listening and reading skills
  • solid grammar
  • improvement of pronunciation
  • improving your writing
  • geography and social science skills
  According to your individual wishes, this course can be extended to one-to-one tuition.
• Instruction materials are included in the course fees. Please do not forget to bring a good dictionary (at least 70,000 references).
• Course schedule: Monday through Friday: 9 am to 12:30 pm
• Length of course: You may register for a minimum of 1, and a maximum of 52 weeks. Please note that if you choose to stay for one week you can only do so in a hotel or private holiday apartment. Long-term students may also take advantage of a course break to travel around.

Intensive Plus course

• 20 lessons per week in a group Plus 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or more one-to-one lessons.
  Choose this course if you would like intensive group instruction in the morning but would also like to take advantage of individual training. Your course instructor can address your individual needs, questions and difficulties in the 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or more additional individual lessons per week. You choose the topics of your specially tailored course from pronunciation training to reading specific professional texts. This course also allows you to take part in several afternoon and evening activities.
  Allow up to 2 hours for course preparation and homework for your group course in the morning and about 1 hour for every 2 one-to-one lessons you take.

• Course description:
  Content and skills focus in this course are adapted to the exam content and correspond to the morning class of the Intensive Plus course. You can expect effective preparation for all parts of the exam i.e. grammar, expression, writing skills, listening and reading comprehension. In the additional one-to-one lessons you will be able to focus on your weaker areas.
  
• Exam schedule for the following exams:
• Goethe:
  Exam dates: about every 4 weeks for the level A to C2.1 - we will give exact dates on enquiry. The Goethe Institute exam fees vary according to exam and range from € 80 to € 220. The exam will be taken at a Goethe Institute of your choice.
• Goethe - Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (KDS) and Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (GDS)
  Exam dates: twice per year in April and November, we will give exact dates on request
  Goethe Institute exam fees: € 220. Exam location: Erlangen (30 minutes by train from Bamberg) or Munich (1.5 hours by train from Bamberg.
• DSH = Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber twice per year, March and September at the Otto-Friedrich Universität in Bamberg

TestDaF and onDaF

If you pass TestDaF then you can study at any German university. It is equivalent to the DSH, but has the advantage that it can be taken 6 times per year and you can re-sit the exam as often as you wish. The onDaF is an online test which can be taken about twice per month and establishes your command of German for levels A2 to C1. Find out more at www.ondaf.de

Individual training / One-to-One tuition

• Course description: This course offers the most intensive method of language training. Here you will learn German in a course tailored to your needs. You decide how fast, how intensive and how long the course will be. The course programme and materials are organized according to your wishes and prerequisites. In a personal interview we will decide on goals and method. You can decide for yourself how many hours per day/week the course should be. You may also choose evenings and weekends if that is your wish.
  Of course you may also receive individual training in addition to any other TREFF PUNKT course.
• There are no set dates for booking individual training. You can enrol any time.
  Maybe you would like a crash or refresher course for an extended weekend? Get in touch with us — we can arrange something that will suit you.
• Length of course: You choose according to your own individual needs.
  Please note, however, that if you choose to stay for less than one week you can only stay in a hotel or private apartment.
• Please note, you booked one-to-one lesson you must take them within a certain time period. If you have booked 10 lessons within 15 weeks if you booked 20 lessons within 30 weeks, if you have booked 30 lessons within 45 weeks, if you booked 40 lessons within 60 weeks.

Seminar

• Every course can be extended to a Seminar. s are specially designed classes catering to those interested in a broad range of subjects. Experts will speak and discuss specific subjects with you and your mini group on 2 evenings. Each evening will comprise of 3 lessons, making 6 in total.
• You will be familiarized with your chosen subject, local and national idiosyncrasies and the corresponding specialized vocabulary. Visits to relevant company sites are also an option.
• To get the most out of the seminars you should have a fairly good command of German (from level B1).  
• The fee per ranges from € 99 to € 199 per person. The seminar takes place starting with a minimum of 4 participants (if not stated otherwise).
• In the economically related seminars you will receive comprehensive documentation material which is included in the fee. Part of the material will also be provided on a disc.

• The course level is being determined beforehand with the help of an online test, we will send to you together with our confirmation of enrolment.
